Flip Pal Scanner Is So Much Fun

CLICK for the

The Flip Pal is going to be a huge hit this year.  It is a revolutionary scanner that makes portable scanning a breeze.  Its size could have been a drawback because it would have allowed scanning of postcard size objects.  However, Rocky Mountain Ventures Company has added the brilliant stitching software that will take several sectional scans of an object and splice it back together so it looks like on single scan.

The Flip Pal is so unique and fun.  It has a see through bed that has glass on top and bottom.  If you want to scan something on the wall just take the cover off the bottom of the Flip Pal and you can see exactly what you are scanning.  You will have so much fun scanning everything and everything from wall photos to postcards.

The price on the Flip Pal won’t make you Flip out either.  For less than $150.00 you get to have the latest in scanner technology.  It is fair to say that this scanner is the latest and maybe the greatest and it has already been showered with several awards for the best new innovation.

Flip Pal is Neat

The Flip Pal Portable Scanner had so many benefits for scrap bookers or office managers that it is hard to think of one draw back for the Scanner.  The only thing that would be an obstacle would be the fact that it does not have an automated document feeder or ADF.  The ADF allows you to put a stack of papers into the tray and have them scanned automatically one by one as they go through machine.  The Flip Pal has plenty of advantages but if you have larger volumes of paper to organize you will be better keeping the flip pal for unique applications and getting a NeatDesk with ADF.

The Flip Pal Portable Scanner

The Neatdesk is not nearly as portable as The Flip Pal so they both are used in different applications.  You can scan a photo while it is still on the wall with the Flip Pal or scan pages right out of a book.  But the NeatDesk is strictly a desktop scanner.  So if you have it in your budget and you love to transfer your records, pictures and files on the computer you might want to have a Flip Pal and a Neatdesk.

The Flip-Pal Portable Scanner is gaining ground on Neat company

The Flip-Pal has jumped in to the portable scanning market with one of the most innovative products to be developed in years.  The battle for portable scanning market share is heating up and just last year it appeared as the Neat Company with Neat Desk and Neat Receipts would battle it out with the Vupoint Magic Wand Scanner from Vupoint Solutions.  However, July of 2010 the portable scanning business was turned into a 3 company challenge when Rocky Mountain Solutions (now know as Couragent Company) unveiled its power packed mini scanner called The Flip Pal.

The battle for your Portable Scanning Dollars has 3 competitors and all have something a little different to offer.

Flip Pal Portable Scanner Featured in Northern Colorado Business Report

The buzz about the Flip Pal Portable Scanner has been gradually picking up steam over the past year.  The portable scanning market has been open for the taking for a truly mobile scanner.  Gordon Nuttall, a former HP employee, launched what appears to be a smash hit for the Rocky Mountain Ventures in July 2010.  The team under Nuttall, now CEO, has brought years of experience to the table they have set out to dominate the portable scanning market with the amazing Flip Pal Scanner.

The company has not taken any chances with the rights to there idea, revealed in the Northern Colorado Business Report story. See the full story here

"The convertible scanner, with two U.S. patents issued and four pending, uses secure digital memory cards - the same as those used in digital cameras - to store scanned items and to hold application-specific software. Nuttall envisions the portable Flip-Pal taking the scrap booking sector by storm, allowing photo scans of items already affixed in a book or frame"

"Nuttall knows his way around a scanner. For much of his more than 30 years at HP he worked as a lead designer in the digital imaging products division. Nuttall kept improving scanner technology but noticed that there was a computer involved."

The Flip Pal Portable Scanner addressed the computer issue by making the mini scanner a stand alone device with the micro disk storing the scans to load on a PC anytime.  If you Bring a few micro disks and you will have plenty of copying power.

The Flip-Pal is the brain child of the Rocky Mountain Ventures Company.

The Craft & Hobby Association is an international trade association for the $27 billion craft and hobby industry. Why did the The Flip-Pal win the Overall Innovation Award? Click here to see the full article.

The Flip-Pal makes it possible to scan photos, images in books and magazines, and similar works of art anywhere, any time with no connection to a computer. The resulting digital files can then be stored and shared. The battery powered flatbed scanner is about the size of a typical netbook computer. The patented "flip-and-scan" technology allows the hinged cover to be removed and the scanner placed face down on top of a old family album, for instance, without having to remove pictures that might be fragile or glued down. The included stitching software enables users to reassemble multiple 4x6 inch scans later into a larger image on their computer.

Another visitor said she wished she had owned a Flip-Pal to copy old family photos that her relatives had brought to a recent family reunion.

What People are Saying about the Flip Pal Mobile Scanner

A few reviews by new owners of the Flip-Pal
  • I got my flip-pal scanner last week in the first shipment of this wonderful new product! I have been using it this week while on a visit to out of state family. I have been able to scan over 100 of old, old family photos in less than an hour while they were still in the frames and matting! It is so fast and easy I could not believe it. The scanner is light and portable and fits easily in my airline carry on. This scanner has allowed me to save and share family photos that would otherwise be lost to most of the family. I am thrilled with this product that can also perform normal scanning and can scan 3D items too.

  • The Flip-Pal has a little screen that lets you see that you got a good scan. The wand type doesn't and lets you go home thinking you have a load of material only to find that much of it is bad.

  • The Flip-Pal scans every time, just like a big scanner. The wand type sometimes has to be             used several times just to get one to work.  I found the wand frustrating and have found the Flip-Pal a joy.  And it has all those other uses, too. And Pictures that aren't distorted. I'm quitting. I would be here all night telling you how great it is.

  • The "stitch" feature is amazing. By making several scans of a large photo, the easy to use program "stitches" them together seamlessly. It helps to leave a good size border around the multiple scans so it makes a crisp edge on the final picture. I will watch to see if this company makes any other products in the future because this one is amazing.

Everyone Loves the Flip-Pal Mobile Scanner
Everyone loves the new Flip-Pal or The Flip as it is referred to often on the company website.  The Flip Pal is astonishing people with is proprietary "stitching" software that takes several scans of a photo and will instantly splice them together to make one fully integrated picture.  The Flip Pal conquered the biggest hurdle in the mini scanner business with this software.  Prior to this there was no way to get around the fact that a scanner needed to be a magic wand type such as the Vupoint Magic Wand Scanner or you need a full size flat bed to scan anything  that could not be fed into an automatic document feeder such as the TryNeat products like Neatreceipts and NeatDesk.

I am definitely am sold on the Flip Pal Mobile scanner.  It is taking the scanning world by storm.

Take The Flip with the Flip Pal Mobile Document Scanner

Never worry about scanning old pictures on the wall.  The Flip Pal allows you to scan them right on the wall without even taking them out of the frame.  The Flip Pal gives you a perfect way to preserve those precious photos of years gone.  Pass a digital copy to your children and grandchildren so they always have those special memories.

The Flip Pal allows you to share easily with friends and family.

The Flip Pal is small enough to fit in your purse or brief case.

How often have you wondered about a way to copy those timeless family photos grandma has on her hallway wall?  The Flip Pal is your answer.  Many of these wonderful photos will be fragile and easily damaged if taken out of the frame.  There is no need to do that even if the frame is thick or rounded glass.  The Flip Pal will get the job done for you.

Richard Alford: Why Has the PPIP Scandal Been Swept Under the Rug? « naked capitalism

Here is a great story on the PPIP program that was again another attempt to relieve the TARP banks from their toxic assets. The program was just another effort to help the banks but the banks decided to just sit on all their toxic assets because they knew they were running the government. The only way Tarp or PPIP would have worked is if the government made it mandatory that they banks clear their books. But of course they didn't want to upset the banks or offend anyone running the banks so the banks still are sitting on trillions of dollars in toxic assets, laughing out loud, and trying to milk every last penny out of homeowners and the government.

Both programs were a complete scam. They even border on the absurd. Remember way back when the Tarp was created as a gun was held to the head of congress. Congress caved and gave the banks whatever they wanted just like a crying kid in a candy store. Easier to Stuff him full of chocolate then listen to his wah wah wah for an hour. The government is acting like a cowardly parent that does not have the stones to stand up to their spoiled brat kid in public.
The banks are the spoiled, maniuplutive brat and the government has taken role of the cowardly parent. The problem that the banks are not going to grow up or change. They have conquered the wimpy souls in the government. The government and our politicians do not have the will to make real change to your banking oligapoloy. It is a sad tale.

The banks have taken so much that minutia of resistence is being crushed by the newly elected, go get the banks politicians, who are relizing they won't get re elected if the enconomy shows any improvement only to be stalled by the proper criminal preceedings agains the Too Big to Fail Banks.

the new blood to the rescue, preaching fairness and equality on the election train all the way to Washington but they jump off fast so they can forget about the people and their campaign promises and get right to work on figuring out how they can get re elected.

The Flip Pal Video from Inventor's convention

Flip-Pal™ Mobile Scanning on sale

I had thought I had seen everything when it comes to scanners but the FlipPal Mobile scanner is fascinating and fun.  The special "stitching" software makes the nearly impossible task of scanning full page documents with a scanner that is only 1/3 the size of the typical page very simple.

The Flip as the Flip-Pal company has coined its mini star is a mini scanner.  As you can see, it looks like a micro version of a flat bed scanner with a see through bottom.  If you have not seen The FlipPal in action watch the short video here.

The "stitching" makes up for the smaller scanning area.  It works like a charm also.  You can run the scanner over a large document one part at at time.  For example, if you will need 4 separate scans to capture a picture on the wall, just scan it 4 times by imagining the pictures divided in to four squares.   You then scan one "box" at a time to cover the entire picture.

After this you get to see the magic of The FlipPal software.  I still can't believe it works.  My first reaction was that this was a cute scanner but it is basically useless unless you intend on scanning post cards.  However, FlipPal blew me away when the software takes all 4 separate scans and creates one larger seamless document  that will be viewable on your computer.  You can then print, email, copy and edit the picture or document just like any other scan on your PC or laptop.

The FlipPal is definitely worth the money, I would imagine the software alone could be sold for nearly the price of the scanner.  You can buy The FlipPal for under $150.

Compare the prices of The Flip, to Vupoint Magic Wand Scanner, or TryNeat with Neatreceipts and NeatDesk.  The Flip-Pal falls right in the middle and is not over priced.  Definitely a 10.

It scans just like your flatbed scanner but it is about 1/2 the size.
