FlipPal Competition from NeatReceipts and the Vupoint Magic Wand Scanner

Here is an article taken from the website that discusses how the new wave of portable scanners can help get your paper work in order.
It is hard to say whether these are competitors to the Flip Pal but the do fall under the protable scanner heading.  I think each seems to have a niche where it can be applied the best but all three seem to be getting a majority of reveiews in the good to great range.  You can take what is in this artcle and get some ideas on how the Flip Pal matches up with  NeatReceipts and the Vupoint Magic Wand Scanner.

Organizing is not always easy but some people are very good at it and some people are the opposite.  But there are no hard and fast rules to being organized.  Everyone has to find what works for them and create their own system.  If you are more visual you may have to put together a system to keep your most important items organized and visible.

You will likely run into space issues if you have to keep all of your files on your desk so this is were NeatReceipts or the Vupoint Magic Wand Digital Scanner can help you.

The Neatworks software that scans, reads and categorizes your paper for future search by keyword makes inputting your paper work fairly simply by one sheet at a time.  It will allow you to keep your records in an easily accessible place that will be right in front of you on your computer screen.

The NeatDesk also uses Neatworks software and it had an automated document feed that accepts up to 50 pages at a time.  If you have a lot of paperwork this would be optimal for you.

The Vupoint Magic Wand Scanner also can help you.  I like to use it with PaperPort organizational software.  It will let your organize all of your paper work and receipts in different folders and sub folders.  It will help you organize everything on your computer.

If you are having trouble organizing your paperwork and receipts take a look at NeatReceipts, NeatWorks and The Vupoint Magic Wand Scanner.

FlipPal Portable Scanner Review

There are many new portable scanners on the market today but the FlipPal  (BUY HERE DIRECT) is the most unique and original design by far.  It is portable, it is totally mobile and can run on batteries with storage capability.

Here is a review from the Flip Pal Blog

Mobile Scanning Review

Hello Everyone. I am Stefan and I am the test engineer for the Rocky Mountain Ventures Company. During our Labor Day picnic, I showed the Flip Pal mobile scanner to my family and friends. The reaction was very enthusiastic and everyone thought of a different application for the Flip Pal.  However the best way to summarize Flip-Pal comes from my nephew.  He said it is “really cool”!
For the past week, I got the pleasure to play with the Flip pal (BUY HERE $149-$159)and take it for a long test drive.  Let me list some of the many advantages and applications for Flip Pal.
Mobility-the Flip Pal is truly a portable scanner that is mobile

It is relatively light and small and you can take it with you anywhere.
If you need to do research at the library or copy class notes, take along
your Flip Pal and you can quickly scan any document.  The mobility also
allows you to scan photos and small poster boards anywhere.

Portable Scanner

The mobility is enhanced because there is no connection
needed and no umbilical cord to attach to your computer

Photos

Like many others, I also have several shoe boxes filled with old photos
that I would like to
convert to digital.  Flip-Pal (BUY HERE) gives you the
convenience to scan those pictures quickly and file them digitally on your
computer or CD ROM.

Color Restoration
Do you have any photographs that have been hanging on the well for a
number of years and the sunshine has faded the color?  I have several of
those pictures.  With Flip-Pal, I can scan in the picture and
restore the
color to it’s original shade.

Enjoy your Flip Pal mobile scanner!

The Flip Pal is definitely innovative and revolutionary.  It is perfect for old photos and for scanning large items while taking advantage of the stitching software that allows you to "stitch" multiple scans from sections of a large document and put them all back together in one complete entry.  It is very effective.
If you are in business and do more scanning of receipts, invoices and monthly paper work the advantage over the Flip Pal would be NeatReceipts and the NeatDesk from theNeat company.  Both are great products but the built in keyword searchable computer software called NeatWorks really is set up to organize your business life in the easiest most effective way possible.

If you are a student or need to scan reference materials and notes on the go or in the library you will want to consider the Vupoint Magic Wand Scanner.   This is so different from any scanner ever and it make you the actually scanner.  You wabe the magic wand over the doucment and it is stored on a micro disk.  It runs on batteries and it is easily plugs in for uploading with a USB Cable.

The over all feature that wins with the Vupoint Scanner is its size and portability.  It is very small.  The Vupoint Solutions Wand Scanner is no longer than a ruler and less than 2 inches high.  It comes with OCR software so all you need is two double AA batteries and a Micro disk.  You can find the Magic Wand here for under $99. and scanning options and will allow you to use the Flip Pal very quickly in almost any situation.
