Capture Id From Couragent. Could this be better than Flip Pal ?

Flip-Pal mobile scanner Carry Case - Blue
The Flip Pal Carry Case
The Capture-ID mobile scanner is wireless, accurate, and reliable for digital capture of documents and identity information away from the desk.  This saves time, improves productivity, and reduces the risk and cost of handling paper.

Paralegals, insurance agents, realtors, and others can scan documents at their client's site when a copier is unavailable and take it with them immediately.

Security, medical offices, hotel registration, public events (concerts, sports), and others can scan small-format personal identification such as business cards, drivers' licenses, passports, insurance cards, and notes that are difficult with a slide, wand, or sheet-feed style of scanner.
This provides retention, archive, search/retrieval, and verification on a server or 'in the cloud' rather than relying on visual comparison or paper

Better than desktop scanners, All-in-One printers, or copiers, the Capture-ID™ mobile scanner:
  • Reliably and accurately captures documents while away from the desk.  No computer is required to scan.
Better than portable sheet-feed and wand scanners, the Capture-ID™ mobile scanner:
  • Scan-in-binding technology.  Patent pending. Reduces the distortion and strain on the binding typical of copiers and other scanners by scanning close into the inside edge of a bound document or book.
  • Wireless.  Instant transfer of scan with geotagged data to a PC, server, and/or the 'cloud' with its wireless accessory
  • Versatile. Stitches multiple scans to any size into larger output, retaining high detail, with its stitching firmware and software
  • Mobile.  Lightweight, Compact and reliable
  • Reduces risk of a incomplete scan and provides ease of use with previewing on its LCD

FlipPal Portable Scanner Review

There are many new portable scanners on the market today but the FlipPal  (BUY HERE DIRECT) is the most unique and original design by far.  It is portable, it is totally mobile and can run on batteries with storage capability.

Here is a review from the Flip Pal Blog

Mobile Scanning Review

Hello Everyone. I am Stefan and I am the test engineer for the Rocky Mountain Ventures Company. During our Labor Day picnic, I showed the Flip Pal mobile scanner to my family and friends. The reaction was very enthusiastic and everyone thought of a different application for the Flip Pal.  However the best way to summarize Flip-Pal comes from my nephew.  He said it is “really cool”!
For the past week, I got the pleasure to play with the Flip pal (BUY HERE $149-$159)and take it for a long test drive.  Let me list some of the many advantages and applications for Flip Pal.
Mobility-the Flip Pal is truly a portable scanner that is mobile

It is relatively light and small and you can take it with you anywhere.
If you need to do research at the library or copy class notes, take along
your Flip Pal and you can quickly scan any document.  The mobility also
allows you to scan photos and small poster boards anywhere.

Portable Scanner

The mobility is enhanced because there is no connection
needed and no umbilical cord to attach to your computer

Photos

Like many others, I also have several shoe boxes filled with old photos
that I would like to
convert to digital.  Flip-Pal (BUY HERE) gives you the
convenience to scan those pictures quickly and file them digitally on your
computer or CD ROM.

Color Restoration
Do you have any photographs that have been hanging on the well for a
number of years and the sunshine has faded the color?  I have several of
those pictures.  With Flip-Pal, I can scan in the picture and
restore the
color to it’s original shade.

Enjoy your Flip Pal mobile scanner!

The Flip Pal is definitely innovative and revolutionary.  It is perfect for old photos and for scanning large items while taking advantage of the stitching software that allows you to "stitch" multiple scans from sections of a large document and put them all back together in one complete entry.  It is very effective.
If you are in business and do more scanning of receipts, invoices and monthly paper work the advantage over the Flip Pal would be NeatReceipts and the NeatDesk from theNeat company.  Both are great products but the built in keyword searchable computer software called NeatWorks really is set up to organize your business life in the easiest most effective way possible.

If you are a student or need to scan reference materials and notes on the go or in the library you will want to consider the Vupoint Magic Wand Scanner.   This is so different from any scanner ever and it make you the actually scanner.  You wabe the magic wand over the doucment and it is stored on a micro disk.  It runs on batteries and it is easily plugs in for uploading with a USB Cable.

The over all feature that wins with the Vupoint Scanner is its size and portability.  It is very small.  The Vupoint Solutions Wand Scanner is no longer than a ruler and less than 2 inches high.  It comes with OCR software so all you need is two double AA batteries and a Micro disk.  You can find the Magic Wand here for under $99. The Flip Pal gives you the option of taking off the lid and putting the
scanner on top of the document and scan it. This gives you added mobility
and scanning options and will allow you to use the Flip Pal very quickly in almost any situation.
